Marine Foam Fabrication
Applications
Marine Foam
Foam for marine applications—whether it’s used for floatation, seating and cushioning, or sound and thermal insulation—must meet the stringent requirements for operation in marine environments. Marine quality foams need to resist mold and mildew growth, prevent corrosion from water, gasoline, and other solvents, and be heat and flame retardant, all while fulfilling their primary purpose: to cushion, insulate, or provide floatation properties.
Amcon has been a boat/marine foam supplier since 1976. We have one of the largest selections of marine foams, making us a go-to supplier of marine foam for boat manufacturers. We stock various polyurethane, polyethylene, and beaded foams that can be custom cut and fabricated to fit nearly any marine application. Manufacturers consult with us to assure optimal yields or have us look at existing parts for additional cost savings. Our marine foam options include:
- Closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene
- Expanded molded polyethylene
- Ether polyurethane
- Expanded polypropylene
- Flame retardant and heat resistant foams
- Beaded foams
- Laminated foams
- Filter foams
We have a deep understanding of the challenges presented by harsh marine environments, and with our kitting expertise and our fast turnaround, we’ll be the strongest part of your supply chain.
Marine Foam Solutions
Floatation Foam
We stock several grades of Coast Guard-approved foam for floatation and marine use. Our diverse fabrication capabilities enable us to fabricate many foam types to fit complex and irregular areas. We help you select the right floatation foam that performs well in harsh marine environments, assuring optimal yields and cost-effective solutions.
Seats and Cushioning
We have extensive experience in designing, selecting, and fabricating foam for boat seats and cushioning applications. We manufacture everything from bow cushions to bass boat seat and backs, mattresses, and pontoon boat cushions.
Sound Deadening and Insulation
We supply many types of marine foam ideal for thermal insulation and sound deadening. Our custom-fabricated engine compartment insulation foam isolates and attenuates sounds and vibrations, and we can also flame laminate various facings of polyurethane foam to reflect heat, gasoline, water, and other materials. We also apply special adhesives to meet the demanding conditions of marine environments.
